Two days after our own mommy/daddy tag-team visit to the grownup dentist, Zachary had his checkup today at the pediatric dentist. They're really wonderful there, with lots of fun toys (many of whom are stuffed animals with extra prominent teeth of course) and kids even get a prize coin at the end of their visit to put into vending machines filled with super balls, necklaces, and other little trinkets. Alas, all of this remains lost on Zachary, who was unhappy from the moment we walked in, and mostly hysterical through the exam itself. We had one moment of hope when they mentioned their swing-arm mounted TVs had two channels, one of which had Thomas -- but alas, at that particular moment, that channel was actually playing an episode of "Bob the Builder". I felt extra bad for the other kids around us, who must've thought he was getting a root canal when about the worst that actually happened was a mirror in the mouth. On the plus side, the dentist reported that he's now got all of his teeth except a top left second molar! New recent words include "chacha" (cheerio), "neck" (like it sounds - and he points to his neck as he says it), "kah-kees" (cookies, finally distinct from crackers), "gious" (juice), "fafa" (fire - he was staring at the fireplace the other day saying it again and again), "yata" (?), and a word for raisins that I can't quite transliterate. Oh, and did I mention he's getting all domestic? Meh found him helping fold laundry:
