Submersible baby

Pool-time funAs Meh previously mentioned, Zachary has been taking his Waterbabies classes weekly with mommy. It always sounded super cute to hear about the kids being bounced and swirled in the water, and everyone singing welcoming and goodbye songs in between developing new skills (learning how to hold their breath when going underwater, good splashing technique, etc.) and a general level of comfort in the water. Yesterday I was finally able to arrange my schedule so I could attend and watch, and the class didn't disappoint!

Pool poseFrom the moment they sat on the edge of the pool, you could tell Zachary loved the water. He was all kicky and making happy sounds. Once actually in the pool, he kept kicking and waving his arms in the water, and had a giant smile the whole time.

The big skill of the day was the first day of the underwater 'pass', where the baby would be swooped underwater by the instructor and then sent towards the parent (hooray for the daddy who was swimming with his baby!), who then scoops the baby up. The babies all did a wonderful job, though I think they were mainly confused or surprised rather than actually happy with the process.
