Blogus Interruptus

Lest people think that we're getting hours at a time to wax philosophical and write these blog entries, yesterday's was written in about 9 separate sittings! The timestamp is just when the entry was started.

Today Zachary began to receive visitors, and the demand has been quite large! First, some amazing friends who have slightly more parenting experience than us (their son is heading up towards two years old already - how time flies!) called us up asking if they could come by with bagels. (Side story: Their son had apparently said 'muffins' when they picked them up, and I made a corresponding joke about what on the west coast passes for "bagels" -- though the ones they brought were actually quite excellent and absolutely hit the spot!). In addition to the doughy goodness, they brought cream cheese schmear and emotional support for both new parents.

My brother (now Uncle Brian!) had flown in last night, and he was the next one to arrive, along with our friends Mike and Kate. Our families have been incredibly supportive and helpful -- my mom and Meredith's parents have been running around the Seattle metropolitan area finding various things for the baby and Meredith, and my aunt, uncle, and bubbie are heading in this coming week for the bris as well.

Several other pairs of friends stopped by later in the day as well -- everyone was bringing gifts, whether it be food, fresh berries, a fancy camera to take some stunning pics of Zachary (hope to see ahd share those soon!), or planning to cater the entire brit milah! Also continuing goodwill phone calls from friends across the country (and even in the exotic far-off land of Toronto). We're just so overwhelmed with all of the support. Now if only Zachary would cooperate with somewhat more predictable sleeping patterns! Speaking of which, he's just about down, so time to join him in sleepytime land.

Hope everyone is well!

(Oh, and if you were wondering, today's posting took all day to complete - I think I had to come back to it around twelve times.)
